About

We're building the audit we wish we'd had.

Every WordPress agency and store owner has stared at a slow site and asked "but why?" — and not gotten a useful answer. We built BoltAudit to be the useful answer.

The story

The audit we kept rebuilding from scratch.

Before BoltAudit, the team ran a WordPress dev shop. Every new client engagement started the same way: 4 hours of "why is your site slow?" — running Query Monitor, parsing slow query logs, eyeballing Lighthouse reports, then assembling a Google Doc with the findings.

The findings were always similar. Bloated autoload. A slow plugin. A tracker that should've been deferred. Variations of the same 30 things across hundreds of sites.

BoltAudit is the answer we should have built years ago. Run it, get the answer, ship the fix. No 4-hour Google Doc.

Our principles

Three things we won't compromise on.

Pre-launch is when companies decide what kind of company they're going to be. Here's ours, written down so we can be held to it.

Principle 01

Honest math.

Visitor Loss is computed from real measurements through published curves. We show the math. Where we estimate, we say so. Where we don't have data, we don't invent it. No fake-precise revenue predictions. Ever.

Principle 02

Production-safe by default.

The free plugin is read-only. The paid one-click fixes are scoped to safe, reversible changes — never plugin code, never themes. Every change is previewed, backed up, and revertible. Trust is the moat.

Principle 03

Outcomes over output.

Findings are ranked by visitors recovered, not by severity theater. A "high severity" finding that doesn't move the needle ranks below a "low severity" finding that recovers 18% of mobile traffic. The number that matters is the one a customer sees.

Boundaries

What we are. What we are not.

Worth saying out loud so we don't drift. The temptation to expand will be constant.

What we are
A WordPress-specific performance audit tool
Read-only by default, surgical when fixing
Ranked by visitors recovered, not severity
Agency-friendly with white-label reports
Honest about what we don't know
Built for revenue-driven sites
What we are not
An APM (we don't replace New Relic)
A cache plugin (we diagnose, we don't optimize at runtime)
An uptime monitor (Pingdom does that)
For non-WordPress sites (WP-only is a feature)
Selling fake-precise dollar predictions
Built for hobbyist blogs
Our open promises

Things we'll stand behind. Forever.

Pre-launch is when companies write promises they expect to keep. Here are ours.

01
The free plugin will always be free. Audits, basic findings, the dashboard — for one site, forever. We won't move those behind a paywall.
02
We won't sell your audit data. Not to ad networks, not to brokers, not to AI training partners. Your data is for you.
03
If a one-click fix breaks your site, we'll fix it. Refund, restoration help, and a public post-mortem. Trust costs nothing to keep, everything to lose.
04
Methodology changes will be published. If we change how Visitor Loss is computed, the announcement, the diff, and the rationale go on the Methodology page. No silent recalculations.
05
We won't add an "AI" feature that doesn't help. If we ship something with AI in the name, it'll be because the alternative was measurably worse. Not because the homepage looks better with it.
