Trust & safety
5 questions
Will the one-click fixes break my site?
No. The free plugin is read-only. Pro/Agency one-click fixes only touch safe, reversible data — every change is previewed, auto-backed-up, and revertible for 30 days. Plugin code and theme files are never modified.
What data do you collect about my site?
Site URL, audit results (findings, scores, vitals), and aggregated usage analytics. We never read post content, user data, customer data, or order data. The full list is on our Privacy page.
Can I audit a live site safely?
Yes — that's literally what we built. The audit is read-only, throttled to avoid measurable load, and skips peak-traffic hours by default if you connect analytics.
Is my data shared with third parties?
No. Site data is not sold or shared. Aggregated, anonymized benchmarks may be published — your site name and URL are never identifiable in those.
GDPR / data residency?
EU servers available on signup. Data is stored in the region you select. We're working toward SOC2 — not there yet; if it's a hard requirement, email us first.
Pricing & billing
5 questions
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans cancel at the end of the current period. Annual plans come with a 14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked.
Does founder pricing renew at 50% off?
The 50% discount locks for the first 12 months on annual plans. After year 1, you renew at the standard annual rate — or switch to monthly, or cancel.
What counts as a "site"?
One WordPress install. Multisite networks count as one site per subsite (so a 5-subsite network on Pro fills 5 of the 25 Agency slots).
Need more than 25 sites?
Sites 26+ are $3/site/month on the Agency plan, billed with your subscription. No special tier, no sales call needed.
Do you offer educational/nonprofit pricing?
Yes, 50% off any paid plan for verified .edu or registered nonprofits. Email hello@boltaudit.com with proof of status.
Methodology & metrics
4 questions
Where do the Visitor Loss numbers come from?
Measured Core Web Vitals (LCP, TTFB, INP) from your site, mapped through published bounce-probability curves from Google/SOASTA research. Math is fully disclosed on our Methodology page.
Why don't you show recovered revenue in dollars?
Because we'd be guessing. Predicting dollars needs your traffic, conversion rate, and average order value — and even then, fix-level attribution is causal modeling, not measurement. Visitor Loss is honest. Dollar predictions would not be.
How accurate are the per-finding recovery estimates?
Directionally reliable, point-estimates approximate. We compute time-savings from real measurement, then translate through the same bounce curves. Confidence intervals coming on the Methodology v2 update.
Why do you show mobile and desktop separately?
Because they bounce differently at the same load time. Showing them separately makes the gap visible — and that gap is exactly what frontend fixes close.
Technical
4 questions
Which WordPress versions are supported?
WordPress 5.8+ and PHP 7.4+. Tested against the latest 3 major versions of WP. Older versions may work; we just don't promise it.
Does it work with my host?
Yes for any host that supports standard WP — Kinsta, WP Engine, Cloudways, SiteGround, Rocket.net, Pressable, Liquid Web, and self-hosted. Shared hosts work too; we just throttle scans to avoid resource limits.
Does it conflict with WP Rocket / W3 Total Cache / etc?
No. We observe; we don't optimize at runtime. If you're running a cache plugin, BoltAudit will tell you which of its settings are most impactful and which are misconfigured.
Is there an API?
Yes, on the Agency plan. REST endpoints for triggering audits, fetching results, and generating reports. Webhooks for score regressions and visitor-loss spikes.
Agencies & teams
4 questions
How many team seats do I get?
5 included on Agency. Add more at $19/seat/month. Roles: Owner, Admin, Member, Read-only.
Can I white-label everything?
On Agency: yes. Reports, public report URLs, the dashboard your client sees — all on your branding. On Pro: reports carry a small BoltAudit credit.
Slack / Discord / Telegram / Asana / Linear integration?
Slack, Discord, and Telegram alerts for score drops and regressions are included on Agency. Generic webhook delivery (with optional HMAC signing) covers Asana, Linear, Jira, n8n, Make, Zapier, or anything else you wire it into.
What happens if I cancel — do my reports disappear?
Reports stay accessible for 30 days post-cancel. Public report URLs redirect to a "this report has expired" page on your subdomain. Export to PDF before cancelling if you want permanent copies.
